Craig’s NCAA Pool 2024 |
After Day 1 was done, Corey took the early lead with 14 out of 16 picks! A lot of other people: Allison, Dan, Glenn, Jim, Joel, and Kelli are sitting in 2nd with 13 points. The March Madness tournament showed the madness is not just in the March weather (currently snowing here), but also in the outcomes. Texas showed Colorado State who’s the boss with a tight grip on victory at 56-44, proving everything’s bigger in Texas, including the defense and also provided out 1st busted bracket, sorry Dan. Oakland University, who knew it was in Michigan, pulled off a stunner against Kentucky with a 3-point shooting barrage 79-76 win and busted our 2nd bracket, sorry Samantha. Dayton Flyers, down by 17, channeling their inner superhero squad in the second half against Nevada. It’s like they were in a basketball-themed escape room, solving puzzles with dunks and three-pointers. The Flyers, orchestrating a 24-4 run, turned a potential “game over” into an epic 63-60 victory. Gonzaga bulldozed through McNeese 86-65, perhaps in a bid to start their own cowboy movie, while Iowa State cycloned past South Dakota State with an 82-65 win, making sure the Jackrabbits knew they were in Tornado Alley. Tennessee didn’t just win against Saint Peter’s; they practically wrote a new gospel on basketball domination with an 83-49 revelation.NC State wolfpacked a biting victory against Texas Tech, winning 80-67, and Kansas barely escaped Samford’s smite, winning 92-89 in a game that probably took a few years off their coach’s life. Meanwhile, Washington State prowled past Drake with a 66-61 win in a nocturnal hunt that went down to the wire in a whirlwind of dunks, buzzer-beaters, and upsets, the tournament continues to deliver the unexpected, making every game a potential headline and every shot a moment in history. Welcome to the madness, where the only predictable thing is unpredictability. Good luck today! Craig |
